Moreno Valley Adoptions Just Got Better: 30 Days of Pet Insurance Included with each adoption

More Valley, CA -- As veterinary care costs continue to rise nationwide—driven by advanced treatments, emergency services, and specialized care—many families worry about unexpected medical bills when bringing home a new pet. To help ease that concern and make adoption more accessible, Moreno Valley Animal Services is introducing a valuable new benefit designed to give adopters confidence and peace of mind from the very start.

Moreno Valley Animal Services is making it even easier and more reassuring to adopt a new furry family member through its partnership with MetLife Pet Insurance. This new program provides 30 days of  pet insurance coverage for dogs and cats adopted from the Moreno Valley Animal Services.

“Under this program, pet parents can experience the joy of adoption without the immediate worry of unexpected veterinary costs,” said Ulises Cabrera. “This partnership gives new pet parents peace of mind and helps remove barriers so more of our shelter animals can find loving homes.”

The 30-day policy includes accident and illness coverage with up to $500 in benefits and a low $50 deductible per incident, allowing adopters to seek care from any licensed veterinarian, emergency clinic, or specialist anywhere in the United States. With veterinary costs continuing to rise, the City hopes this added layer of protection will inspire more residents to open their hearts and homes—especially during peak adoption seasons.

This exciting benefit extends beyond dogs and cats. MetLife Pet Insurance is also offering the same 30 days of coverage for adopted exotic and pocket pets, with equines as the only exception. This added protection allows new pet parents to focus on what truly matters during those first weeks at home: bonding, belly rubs, and building a lifelong connection.

While this program offers an exciting and meaningful opportunity to adopt with added peace of mind, Moreno Valley Animal Services also reminds residents that pets are a lifelong commitment. Beyond the first 30 days, animals rely on their families for ongoing care, love, time, and responsibility for years to come. This new partnership helps families start strong—but the true reward of adoption is a lasting bond built on compassion and dedication.

Claim this amazing benefit now, by adopting a pet on St. Patrick's Day, between March 10-14 and 17-21! To learn more about animal services and meet adoptable pets waiting for their forever homes, visit moval.gov/pets.
