We are halfway into January of the new year; how are your New Year’s resolutions shaping up? Have you already fallen off the bandwagon and feeling a bit discouraged? You’re not alone – especially when it comes to losing weight. According to an ABC News report, over 100 million dieters make four to five attempts EVERY YEAR to lose weight. That means the diets they try don’t translate into lasting changes. Does this resonate with you? Well, there is good news. A local fitness and wellness company, Better Life Fitness, has the anti-diet solution and it’s simple. Eat whole foods, exercise, get plenty of sleep and de-stress your life. Simple? Yes. Easy? Depends. It depends on how bad you want to change your lifestyle, and how tired you are of playing the yo-yo with your weight. This strategy works, as evidenced by the many who have gone through this program and experienced lasting change, which is why they were voted the 2015 best weight loss center by San Bernardino Sun and Redlands Daily Facts readers. Just ask Chuck Doolittle, 58, of Redlands who lost 19 pounds in six weeks by eating whole foods, exercising, and de-stressing. “Food has always been an insane topic for me [but now] I feel like I have found something that I finally can embrace. I don’t have to get up in the morning and worry about what I’m going to eat, I don’t have to worry about going to the grocery store and buying something I shouldn’t, [and] I’m no longer bound to the scale,” he said. Dr. Julie Estrella, 28, of Loma Linda who lost 22 pounds in six weeks, said it best, “The structure, the classes, the exercise groups, the recipes and on top of that trying the foods and celebrating and laughing together was amazing!” What is Estrella talking about? Better Life Fitness has created The 20/40 Project, which is a weight-loss program that teaches participants how to eat to lose the weight and keep weight off for the rest of their lives. How does it work? Simply by changing how to think about food – with recipes, food samples, shopping guides, etc. – plus how to get more physical activity daily, and de-stress. It’s geared to help overweight individuals lose 20 pounds in 40 days. No counting points. No shots. No supplements. No calorie restrictions. Sounds too good to be true? Come see for yourself.
