At just 16 years old, Abubacarr Saidy, a Freshman at Canyon Springs High School, is already establishing himself as one of the most exciting young soccer talents on campus. Maintaining an impressive 3.65 grade point average, Abubacarr proves that excellence in athletics and academics can go hand in hand.

Abubacarr’s soccer journey began at just three years old. His early development took place in Africa, where he played for Yarabamba Team Football Academics and Roodzwart Football Academics, building a strong technical foundation and competitive mindset that continues to shape his game today.

Now playing Midfield and Left Wing for Canyon Springs, Abubacarr has quickly become a standout player. Coaches praise his vision, work ethic, and natural ability to control the tempo of the game. Although he began the season on the Junior team, it did not take long for his talent to shine. JV competition proved too limited for his skill level, and he was soon moved up to Varsity where spectators have taken notice. Parents enjoy watching him play, drawn to his speed, control, and scoring ability.

His passion for soccer extends beyond high school competition. Abubacarr frequently substitutes for three to four community teams, constantly seeking opportunities to stay active and sharpen his craft. His dedication has earned him multiple recognitions, including “Player of the Week,” “Player of the Match,” and academic awards for his classroom performance. Teammates across all grade levels from Freshmen to Seniors respect him for his positive attitude and ability to connect with everyone on and off the field.

Following his graduation from Vista Springs Middle School, Abubacarr was invited to participate in the Atlético de Madrid Camp in San Diego. His performance there led to an extraordinary opportunity: selection to travel to Madrid, Spain this March through April for advanced training. The experience represents a significant milestone in his young career and aligns perfectly with his long-term aspirations.

When asked what motivates him, Abubacarr credits his father as his greatest influence. “My Dad is my biggest influencer,” he shared. “I look up to him and want to be like him as a soccer player, but I want to take it further and become a professional. I appreciate when he corrects me when I do something wrong.”

With his sights set on becoming a professional soccer player in Spain and traveling the world, Abubacarr approaches every practice and match with focus and determination. His development has also been supported by Coach Javier Bentancourt, who recognized him for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to improvement.

A special connection to this rising athlete is the support of Tony with Uplift Inland Empire, a growing community-driven movement dedicated to supporting local causes, youth programs, and families by collective attention and collaboration. His organization works hard by connecting sponsors, community leaders, and residents. Uplift Inland Empire continues to create meaningful opportunities for young athletes like Abubacarr while strengthening the broader community.

With talent, discipline, and unwavering motivation, Abubacarr Saidy’s journey is only just beginning. The Moreno Valley community looks forward to watching the continued growth for this young athlete, the best is truly yet to come.
