A transformative addition to the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) is nearly ready to open its doors. The Welcoming Resource Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve as a centralized hub for families, is in the final stages of construction and set to open soon.

Located in the heart of San Bernardino, the three-story, 60,000-square-foot building will function as a one-stop destination for families seeking support, services, and connections within the district. As construction wraps up, anticipation is building for the official unveiling of this forward-thinking facility.

A Centralized Hub for District-Wide Services

The Welcoming Resource Center is built with the purpose of making essential district services more accessible to families. Once open, it will house district-wide enrollment services, family workshops, health services, and collaborative events, all under one roof. By streamlining access to these resources, the district aims to remove barriers and create a smoother experience for families navigating the educational system.

Empowering Families Through Support and Connection

Beyond providing services, the center is a cornerstone in SBCUSD’s efforts to strengthen school-family partnerships. Its mission is to empower parents to support their children’s education more effectively and feel engaged with the schools their children attend. It’s not just about resources—it’s about building community, trust, and shared goals between educators and families.

 A Modern, Inclusive Space

Designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind, the center boasts a cantilevered second floor and utilizes the innovative SMARTci building enclosure system, making it both energy-efficient and architecturally striking. The welcoming design reflects its mission: to be a safe, inclusive, and inviting space for every family in the district.

The Welcoming Resource Center is more than just a facility it’s a community anchor, purpose-built to foster inclusivity, collaboration, and support. Whether families are enrolling their children in school, attending a parenting workshop, or accessing health services, the center will be a place where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

As the finishing touches are applied and opening day approaches, excitement is growing across the district. The Welcoming Resource Center represents a bold investment in the future of San Bernardino families and schools and a clear message that every student and parent matters.

Stay tuned for the official opening date and celebration of this vital new resource in the San Bernardino community.
