Cub Scouts from Loma Linda, Pack 5, Grayback District were recognized at their weekly meeting, Thursday Aug. 16. Katherine Kolchet from Assemblyman Mike Morrell’s office presented each boy with a California Legislature Certificate honoring his advancement. “On behalf of your local representative, Mike Morrell, I am pleased to present this certificate. We want to recognize your advancement and how much work you have been doing. We want to congratulate you,” she stated. Scouts who received the certificate were Hassan Farha, Hussein Farha, Giovani Jimenez, Sebastian Popoff, Addison Sheble, Chase Weidler and Jacob Weidler. Parents were proud and pleased with the certificate of recognition. Noelle Sheble said, “Wow! This is really special.” Louis Flores, BSA charter organizer, was thrilled. “We appreciate the assemblyman’s support of scouting, for these boys represent future leaders of America,” Flores said. Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph’s parish in Loma Linda is helping support this pack. Members Chris Massa and Russell Almendarez presented Cubmaster Greg Weidler with a check for $220 for proceeds from the carwash the boys held in June. They also presented the pack with a new American flag.
