Man Arrested After Stealing from Elderly Victims

LOMA LINDA>>On June 1, 2017, Loma Linda Deputy J. Deen investigated a burglary report at a senior living facility in Loma Linda. An unidentified subject entered the property and stole several items from the facility. There were no suspect leads in the wake of the investigation.

On June 9, 2017, Deputy B. Ortiz, responded to a call in reference to a subject attempting to cash forged checks at a business in Loma Linda. Ortiz was able locate and arrest Thomas Harrison attempting to cash the forged checks. During the investigation, Ortiz discovered Harrison previously cashed stolen checks belonging to elderly victims from the senior living facility. The checks found in Harrison's possession belonged to additional elderly victims. Ortiz arrested Harrison and booked him into Central Detention Center for check fraud.

On June 10, 2017, Thomas Harrison was released from jail on his own recognizance. Later that day, deputies responded to the senior living facility in reference to a male subject who was found on the facility grounds. The subject entered an elderly person's room and stole credit cards and jewelry. The reporting party and witnesses described the subject, and it matched Harrison's description. The deputies conducted their investigation but were unable to find the subject.

On June 11, 2017, Deputies contacted Harrison in the area of Redlands Blvd. and Taft St. Harrison was found to be in possession of credit cards, jewels and coins belonging to other people. Deputy B. Ortiz continued the investigation and found evidence that Harrison had burglarized the elderly facility after he was released from jail. Ortiz is attempting to locate additional people who may have been victims of burglaries. During the investigation, Ortiz discovered Harrison was responsible for the burglaries at the senior living center. Harrison was arrested and transported to the Central Detention Center and booked for Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Elder Abuse and Committing a crime while on "OR" release.
