LLU Health's Dr. Brian Bull Honored

During its annual Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony, the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce presented its B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS Excellence in Leadership and Service award to Dr. Brian Bull. Dr. Bull is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Human Anatomy at Loma Linda University Health. He has been teaching in this capacity for 42 years, having began in this position in 1973. In 2003, Bull completed a 10 year term as the dean of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. For a decade prior to that, he served as the editor in chief of the international journal, “Blood Cells, Molecules and Diseases.” Currently, he serves on several editorial and advisory boards, and has published extensively in the fields of platelet function, coagulation, blood salvage and red cell membrane mechanics. Dr. Bull holds 14 patents in the field of blood analysis methodology. He is married, with two children and three grandchildren. Born in England, bull grew up in Jamaica. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, completed anatomical pathology training at Yale University, completed clinical pathology at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his hematopathology training as a fellow at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London, England.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
