Presentation Gets Wild at University

Recently, Loma Linda University (LLU) got wild with a presentation from the San Diego Zoo (SDZ). Promoting their new Tiger Trail Exhibit opening on Labor Day weekend, SDZ representatives visited the university with four animal ambassadors. Rick Shwartz, who had been involved with the SDZ since 2000 was the spokesperson of the event, entertained while educating the crowd with fun facts about the animals. LLU is a client for the sales department of the SDZ, enabling the school to offer discounted tickets to visit the animals. According to Public Relations Representative Ina Saliklis, "the new exhibit is a home for 6 Sumatran tigers in a fresh habitat with new features, including water falls and a water pond." Although the zoo could not bring tigers to the presentation, children and parents alike gazed in amazement at the animals that were presented. Five-year-old Cash Oliveros raved about how seeing the animals was "cool" and expressed desire to visit the zoo. Violet John, a grandmother of four, came to watch the presentation by herself and shared, "I love animals!" and also mentioned that she enjoyed the free, nearby location to see them. With two large crowds for the two respective presentations, and a raffle for a trip down to San Diego, the SDZ representatives left an impression on the families and students who stopped by to watch.
