Loma Linda Installation Dinner

LOMA LINDA >> Recently, the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce hosted an Installation Dinner to recognize a few of the city's high-performing public administrators. The dinner was hosted to honor them for their dedication and contribution to the city of Loma Linda through community public service. The honorees of this event included Brandi, a Gulf-War Veteran and former Military Police Officer who currently serves as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the city. Brandi received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix (UOP), where she maintained a 3.7 GPA. She was added to the National Dean's list and also attended law school for two years after she graduated from UOP. Pamela Byrnes-O’Camb who serves as the city clerk and housing coordinator for the city, holds an Associate Degree in Court Reporting from Gateway Technical Institute in Wisconsin. Pam joined the staff of Loma Linda in 1979 as Deputy City Clerk and received the Employee of the Year award in 1997. In addition to the normal City Clerk duties – municipal elections, records management and retention, City Council agendas and minutes, FPPC filings/compliance, etc., Pam also serves as the Secretary to the City’s Successor Agency, Housing Authority and Oversight Board. Pam also serves as the City’s Housing Coordinator. She lives in San Bernardino with her husband Dan; they have 3 children Geoff, Justin, and Melissa - and 4 grandchildren. Very active in her church, Our Lady of Assumption in North San Bernardino, having served as music director/coordinator and on numerous committees over the years and continues as Choir Director; her husband is currently a deacon with the San Bernardino Dioceses, and they serve at Our Lady of Assumption. Pam also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pregnancy Resource Center in San Bernardino. Pam took her PERS retirement in May of 2012, however continues to serve the City of Loma Linda as City Clerk and Housing Coordinator in a part time capacity. Deputy Josette Tracy Deputy Josette Tracy was born in Loma Linda. She was the first of two siblings. Her mother was a stay-at-home mother and her father worked as a supervisor in the blast furnace department at Kaiser Steel. Josette was raised in a tight knit Catholic family where moral values, like honesty, integrity, and commitment were instilled from a young age. Josette attended Paul J. Rogers Elementary School, and began her participation in Dance Club and softball at the age of six. Josette attended Colton Jr High, and Colton High School. During her years attending high school, she was a member of the Colton High Marching band and Color Guard. One of Josette’s highlights during this time was marching the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1985. Josette was also a student athlete of the Colton High School Varsity softball team, where she received her letter, and graduated in June of 1988. Immediately after graduating high school Josette attended Concord Career Institute where she received her certificate as a dental assistant. In 1998 Josette decided to pursue her goal in Law Enforcement. Josette put herself through the Extended Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the San Bernardino Valley College and graduated in September 1999 in the top ten percent of her class. In December of 1998 Josette applied with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, where she began the hiring process. In October 1999 Josette was offered a job with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. In June 2000, Josette graduated in the 139th academy class receiving her Basic Post certificate. Josette was assigned to the West Valley Detention Center and Central Detention Center for four years. In May 2004 Josette was assigned to Central Station as a patrol deputy. Since being assigned to Central Station, Josette has served the communities of Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, the San Manuel Casino, and the unincorporated county areas of San Bernardino. Josette is currently married to her husband Steven Tracy and currently resides in the city of Highland. Josette and Steven have four children, ranging from twenty-seven to eight years old. Both Josette and Steven maintain an active life style, with Josette frequently running half and full marathon’s, and Steven staying involved with the younger kids sports activities. With Josette and Steven both having public safety professions and working shift work, they both cherish their family time and often plan activities with each other traveling and playing out doors. As a Law Enforcement Professional for the past sixteen years, Josette has worked hard to earn the respect of her peers and supervisors. Josette’s faith, integrity, and determination are the core values and road map that guide both her personal and professional life.
