Members of the Grand Terrace Artistic Roller Skating Team, based at Cal Skate in Grand Terrace, were recently awarded 25 medals at the State Games in Orange. Team members earned medals in freestyle, figures, creative dance and pairs skating. “We are very proud of all our skaters who competed," said Head Coach Lori Becker. "This is where all their hard work pays off." Over 500 entries from throughout California participated in over 87 events. Skate categories are based on age and skill levels and include girls, boys and adults. "Artistic Roller Skating is a great individual and team sport," continued Coach Becker. “We want to let more people know about it and encourage more participation in the Inland Empire." The Grand Terrace Artistic Roller Skating Team has been actively training young skaters from the Inland Empire for 30 years. Team Members hail from Inland Empire cities of Grand Terrace, Hesperia, Highland, Loma Linda, Redlands and Riverside, as well as from Camarillo, Ojai and Ventura.
