Loma Linda University Church (LLUC) and KVCR recently partnered to host a four-generation, family-inspired band from Nashville, Tennessee that's touring the country with their very first commercial release, "Pilgrims and Prodigals." The Annie Moses Band is a gifted bunch that recently performed on PBS. Band member and sister to Annie, Alex, said on their website regarding this project, “We’re all on a personal journey. We are all either someone who’s finding our way back home or we’re someone who’s running away from home. Every song on this album tells one of those two stories.” As the music could be heard broadcasting outside the LLUC building, Annie herself could be heard giving credit to her mother for inspiring her children to Scriptural and musical excellence, as she goes on to introduce the band, "She's (Annie and Alex's mother) having to play gramma tonight, so you all can understand that, perhaps. But you know, my parents (Robin and Bill Wolaver), quite literally, are the creators of the Annie Moses Band because they took all of the Scriptures about being fruitful and multiplying and replenishing the earth very seriously.. thus, all of the children.. so.. they're the brothers, Benjamen on the cello, Alex on the viola, and Jeremiah on the guitar. And then our sisters, Camille on the harp and keyboard, Gretchen on the violin and the mandolin. We're joined by our sister-in-law Berkley, who is singing for you, and of course, you've already met Joshua Carswell whose singing tenor, and my name is Annie. I'm playing the violin and singing for you. And as I mentioned, the story of our family goes back four generations to a woman named, Annie Moses, our great, grandmother and namesake. And she started an incredible legacy in our family of faith and music. She led a difficult life of great poverty working as a hired field hand in Texas, and she died very young at the age of 49, but she invested everything she had in the talents of her little girl, Jane. Jane grew up with this passion for music and passed it on to our mother, Robin, and our parents in-turn passed it on to us." Robin Wolaver, Annie's mother, plays piano and has a vocal performance degree. Outside the event, Wolaver shared that they were at the conclusion of the second week of their three-week tour through Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Texas.
