The Redlands Police Department will once again host a personal self-defense and safety seminar tailored specifically for women, scheduled from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Gonzales Community Center’s Multi-purpose Room, located at 111 W. Lugonia Ave.

Space is limited, so please reserve your spot by emailing to personalsafety@redlandspolice.org.

This seminar, part of the Redlands Police Department’s Street Smart program, aims to enhance participants’ awareness and reduce their risk of victimization.

Open to women and girls ages 12 and older, the session will feature presentations by Redlands Police officers, practical self-defense training based on leverage and technique, and a Q&A on personal safety. Attendees are advised to bring water, wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.

The registration fee is $25, with all proceeds supporting the Street Smart After-School Self-Defense Program.

Street Smart is an after-school self-defense initiative for children and teens, taught by a 25-year veteran of the Redlands Police Department. Celebrating its 17th year, the program welcomes kids ages 7 and up. Classes take place at 4 p.m. on Fridays at the Redlands Community Center.  Those interested in the Street Smart program are encouraged to contact the instructor for more info.
