VA Loma Linda Receives Veteran Employer of the Year Award

Last week Mr. Andrew Welch, Interim Director, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, accepted the Veteran Employer of the Year award from the California Employment Advisory Council this morning at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.  This award is given annually to 3 small businesses, the large private employers, and 3 government service employers for demonstrating “positive policies toward U.S.

Veterans in hiring and promotion, as well as through employee retention efforts, ongoing training, and benefits. Eligibility for the award is limited to California employers who follow all national, state, and local laws, and who are in good standing with the State of California.  

 The award was presented by Patrick. W. Henning – Director of the Employment Development Department, William M. Betley – CEAC President, and Steven Huhta – Co-Chair CEAC Veterans Committee.
