It’s that time of year again for Loma Linda University Health to proudly partner with San Bernardino Police Department and other law enforcement agencies for the 7th Annual No-Shave November fundraiser. Scheduled from November 1 to November 30, No-Shave November raises funds for Loma Linda University Cancer Center.
“Community partnerships like this help to raise awareness and provide support for so many,” says Mark Reeves, MD, PhD, director of the Cancer Center. “This includes patients with cancer, but also those who don’t have cancer and are considering cancer screening to find cancer early or prevent it.”
Eight law enforcement departments participated in last year’s No-Shave November event, raising nearly $25,000 for the Cancer Center, a record-breaking amount.
Participants in this year’s fundraiser, including LLU security and leadership, San Bernardino Police Department, Fontana Police Department, Redlands Police Department, and other agencies, will let their hair grow wild and free. Reeves says the funds raised will provide much-needed resources to support cancer research — especially as the Cancer Center seeks National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation.
You, too, can join the fight against cancer — individuals or teams can register to donate to the cause and participate in the No-Shave challenge.
A celebratory virtual event will take place on December 1, 2021, to close out this fundraiser. During the event, judges will determine top placements for entries in the following categories: best mustache, best beard, whitest beard, best eyebrows, best head of hair, best beard attempt, and hairiest legs.
