Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider, is extending its Ventura County Line service to accommodate fans attending the highly anticipated X Games Ventura 2024 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The special train service and modified schedule will run on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, offering attendees a convenient and stress-free transportation option to and from the extreme sports spectacular and musical showcase.

“I am excited that fans from across Southern California can once again ride Metrolink’s Ventura County Line to and from the X Games at the Ventura County Fairgrounds,” Metrolink Board Director and City of Camarillo Mayor Tony Trembley said. “Thanks to Metrolink’s family budget-friendly $10 Weekend Day Pass, our riders will have easy access to this iconic sporting event and festival experience adjacent to our county’s stunning coastline.”

In collaboration with the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC), Metrolink will provide enhanced service to the Ventura-Downtown/Beach Station, allowing visitors seamless access to the X Games venue.

“VCTC is pleased to partner with Metrolink to help fans enjoy another year of thrilling X Games competition without the hassle and expense of driving and parking,” VCTC Executive Director Martin Erickson said. “VCTC’s intercity bus service also accepts Metrolink transfers, giving riders even more options to travel throughout Ventura County.”

To further incentivize ridership, Metrolink offers a $10 Weekend Day Pass on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing for unlimited rides system-wide on the date of purchase. Additionally, as part of Metrolink’s Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion, each fare-paying adult can bring up to three children aged 17 and younger for free.

The X Games, renowned for its electrifying skateboard, BMX and Moto X competitions, will feature world-class athletes competing at their sport’s highest level. Attendees can anticipate thrilling competition, art and cultural activations, and live music, including sets by multi-platinum-selling rapper Wiz Khalifa and Grammy-nominated DJ Kaskade, throughout the three-day event.

Metrolink’s Rail 2 Rail® and codeshare programs with Amtrak Pacific Surfliner will be suspended during the X Games from Friday, June 28, through and including Sunday, June 30. The programs will resume on Monday, July 1. Metrolink codeshare and Rail 2 Rail customers may ride the special event Pacific Surfliner trains 763, 798, and 786 if space is available between Los Angeles and the Ventura-Downtown/Beach Station. Please note that some Pacific Surfliner trains will not accept Metrolink tickets during this period.
