Happy Father's Day

Next Sunday is Father’s Day. This national holiday is a great opportunity for each of us to take a moment to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our families by getting out and enjoying the family-friendly community we share here in Moreno Valley.

I am deeply moved and inspired by the selflessness, resilience, and unconditional love that fathers display each and every day. These are the pillars of strength that uphold our families and the bedrock upon which our community is built.

So, on this Father's Day, I encourage you to celebrate not only the fathers within our own homes but also the father figures who have made a difference in our lives. Whether they are a mentor, a coach, a teacher, or a neighbor, let’s recognize and honor those who have played a paternal role in shaping who we are today.

Let’s go out of our way to show our appreciation for all that they have done and continue to do.

I would contend that, like me, most dads don’t desire anything fancy or extravagant on this day. In fact, they’re probably just happy to spend some quality time with their loved ones. It could be something as simple as curling up on the couch together and watching their favorite team play ball, taking a walk around the neighborhood, or visiting one of our City’s beautiful parks or facilities to play and relax with family and friends.

Happy Father's Day, Moreno Valley!
