Martha Cowan, BFA, celebrated regional artist, says, “I love the shapes and colors of found objects and how they can exist together harmoniously.”

As a distinguished artist, Ms. Cowan has exhibited and sold paintings depicting landscapes, portraits, and objects in a still-life setting. Her paintings have been accepted and exhibited at the prestigious California Art Club Gold Medal Show as well as the western regional and national shows of Oil Painters of America.

She brings expertise gained as a graphic designer into her advanced painting classes at Redlands Art Association and San Juan Capistrano.

She has been a teacher of art design and painting for nearly 40 years and views teaching as a process of learning. Her paintings are represented at the Mission Gallery in San Juan Capistrano as well as the Hillside Fine Art Gallery in Claremont. Ms. Cowan has been the recipient of many awards and featured in several publications.

LLUH Fine Arts Festival 2023 is honored to have Ms. Cowan as our featured artist. Join her on Sunday, April 30, at Drayson Center, as she selects someone in the audience to paint. Someone will leave her event with a finished portrait.
