Horse enthusiast and artist Elin Pendleton, AAEA WAOW, will present a demonstration on painting horses in the landscape at the April 12 meeting of the Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association, which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Loma Linda Senior Center, located in the southeastern corner of the City of Loma Linda civic complex at 25541 Barton Road. There is a fee of $3.00 per non-member attendee. “The goal of the presentation will be to share what I’ve learned about using color to convey a sense of time of day,” Pendleton notes. According to Betty Francis, program chairman, “Elin Pendleton is in love with horses and with the landscape. In fact, she calls herself ‘horse crazy.’ As a result, she has studied the anatomy, behavior, and psychology of horses extensively. She belongs to the Women Artists of the West, Equine Art Guild, the National Acrylic Painters Association, and the premier association of horse painters, the American Academy of Equine Art. To put it mildly, she loves to paint horses!” Francis points out that Pendleton teaches an online class for Mt. San Jacinto College, and runs three websites: www.dailypaintings.com, www.elinart.com and www.equinepaintings.com.
