With spring comes new starts, new beginnings and new life, and that’s no exception this year at City News. It is with the greatest pleasure and excitement that we announce the forthcoming arrival of the newest member to the CNG family in just under two months, as our little girl prepares to welcome her very own little girl. Many of you have known Helena “Mitchell” Harris - she’s all grown up now, recently married and adding the role of loving wife to the long list of hats she wears - now known as Mrs. Harris. Over the years I, and all of you, have watched this ambitious, strong, hard-working, funny and intelligent girl blossom into an even more ambitious, strong, hard-working, funny and intelligent young woman over the years. Just as I have mentored her, she has also mentored me, and has touched many lives in the last eight years through her work and the love and care she shows for CNG and all the communities we serve. Those of you who have been helped, befriended or inspired by this young woman are invited to celebrate with Helena, myself and the rest of the CNG staff in a baby shower to be hosted on Saturday, April 25. The baby shower will kick off at Rollins Park, 22745 De Berry St., Grand Terrace, from 2 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments and munchies will be provided. There will be bench seating at the park but guests are also welcome to bring their own fold-out chairs. Please RSVP by April 17 to 909-370-1200. The mother-to-be is registered at Walmart under the name Helena Harris. We all look forward to seeing you and helping Helena welcome Emma Rose to her momma’s fast-paced world in May.
