LOMA LINDA>> On Tuesday, April 4, Loma Linda University Health debuted "Live It: In the Kitchen," a cooking show of 13 short episodes that aim to inspire those at home to cook and eat healthy. Every week, "Live It: In the Kitchen" will demonstrate a meal that is wholesome, healthy, and easy to cook. “People tend to turn to meals that are quick and easy to prepare, but ultimately low in nutritional value,” said Chef Cory Gheen, from Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions department of nutrition and dietetics. “‘Live It: in the Kitchen’ aims to show that great tasting food can be good for your body and easy to prepare.” "Live It: In the Kitchen" is produced by Loma Linda University Health. The series is a collaborative effort between Loma Linda University Schools of Allied Health Professions and Public Health, as well as Loma Linda University Health advancement films. The recipes, which are all vegetarian, were collected by Chef Cory, who has over 25 years of cooking experience. Over the course of the series, Chef Cory plans to showcase recipes such as dark chocolate pomegranate bark, no-bake energy bites, carrot soup, white bean chili and avocado fettuccine. He will also demonstrate cooking tips such as how to cut a bell pepper or de-seed a pomegranate. "Live It: In the Kitchen" airs every Tuesday at www.liveitlomalinda.org. The series is available in English and Spanish.
