Do you wear hearing aids? The Loma Linda VA is seeking volunteers for a research study evaluating the benefit of a computerized auditory training program to help hearing aid users to better recognize speech, especially in background noise. Up to 50 hours of training and testing will be provided (about 26 study visits). Each visit lasts one to two hours and will be scheduled at the patient's convenience. An appointment for a hearing test will be arranged to see whether patients meet the study criteria. Participants must be between the ages of 35 and 89 years old and must have worn hearing aids for at least 3 months. This is a research study and should not be considered treatment. This study is open to both veterans and non-veterans. If you want to volunteer or would like more information, please call Dr. Erin Wilbanks at 909-825-7084 ext. 7294.
