Gospel music enthusiasts will be in for an extra treat when popular recording artists “Ernie Haase and Signature Sound” make their first-ever Inland Empire concert appearance on Aug. 1. The evening event at Loma Linda University Church will also introduce the quartet’s newest vocalist, Dustin Doyle, who was named to the group in June. Doyle, of McKenzie, Tennessee, was formerly lead singer with the Nashville-based gospel trio Beyond the Ashes. He and his wife Aubrey are parents of Dolphus, a red-haired toddler boy, and expect a second child in October. He holds a degree in music production from Bethel University (Tenn.). Tickets to the Loma Linda concert are selling quickly online through iTickets.com and by telephone at 800-965-9324, according to the sponsors. Priced from $10 to $30 depending on seat location, they include reserved seating and free parking in a structure across from the church at 11125 Campus St., Loma Linda. No tickets are available from the church, and none will be sold at the door. Ernie Haase and Signature Sound are known to millions for their Grammy-nominated and Dove award-winning recordings and their appearances with the Gaither Homecoming Tour and Gaither Vocal Band. Their local concert is co-sponsored by the host church and the Calimesa Community Concert Series. Earliest ticket buyers have access to preferred seat locations in each price category, explains concert series coordinator Dr. Bob Soderblom. Prime-seat VIP tickets are $50. Haase and the quartet started touring as Signature Sound in 2002, quickly building a huge following and a reputation for thinking and performing “outside the box.” In addition to traditional gospel concerts and recordings that include gold and platinum DVDs, the group introduced high-energy harmonies and messages of hope to NASCAR crowds and corporate events, touring from Latvia to India and South Africa to New Zealand. Quartet vocalists in addition to Haase and Doyle are Devin McGlamery and Paul Harkey; Wayne Haun will be playing piano and keyboards in the Loma Linda concert. Information about the group’s local appearance, including directions to the church, can be heard on the recorded concert information telephone line at 909-795-4960. Doors will open at 6:30 for the 7 p.m. event.
