Students at Vermont Elementary School in San Bernardino City Unified School District were greeted with excitement and gratitude this week as they received a generous donation of new backpacks filled with essential school supplies. The initiative, spearheaded by Bank of America in collaboration with San Bernardino County Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. and his office, aimed to support students and ease the burden on families ahead of the new school year.

Over the course of the week, volunteers from Supervisor Baca Jr.'s office joined forces with Bank of America representatives to prepare and distribute the backpacks. Each student at Vermont Elementary received a backpack tailored to their grade level, packed with notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, and other crucial supplies necessary for academic success.

"This initiative is about ensuring that every student starts the school year on the right foot," said Supervisor Baca Jr. "We recognize the challenges that many families face in preparing for school, and we're grateful to Bank of America for their partnership in making a direct and meaningful impact in our community."

The donation comes at a critical time for many families, alleviating financial strain and ensuring that students have the tools they need to engage fully in their education. Principal Lisa Martinez expressed her gratitude, emphasizing the importance of community support in fostering a positive learning environment.

"Our students and families are incredibly grateful for this generosity," Principal Martinez remarked. "Having a new backpack and supplies not only boosts their confidence but also reinforces the message that our community cares deeply about their success."

Bank of America has a long-standing commitment to supporting educational initiatives and community enrichment programs across San Bernardino County. This collaboration with Supervisor Baca Jr.'s office underscores their dedication to investing in the future of local students and promoting educational equity.
