The public will be treated to an evening of music from the masters as Loma Linda University Health hosts a free outdoor concert by the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, May 4. The concert is set for 5 to 6:45 p.m. at the Loma Linda University Health Campus Mall, the lawn between Wong Kerlee International Conference Center and Magan Hall. The campus address is 11060 Anderson St., in Loma Linda. The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Frank Fetta, will present “Masterworks “ in memory of Nancy (Woods) Bricard and Duke Hill. Highlights of the performance include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The concert will also feature as soloist, acclaimed Los Angeles pianist and recording artist Norman Krieger. “We are so proud and honored to once again host the members of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra as they perform the works of musical masters in Loma Linda,” said Dr. Richard Hart, president of Loma Linda University Health. “Our aim at Loma Linda University Health is to encourage and support healing and wholeness for both body and mind, and the gift of music certainly plays an important role in reaching that goal,” he said. Seating at the concert will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a blanket if they wish to sit on the lawn. Picnic baskets are also welcome, although food will be available to purchase from local restaurants and vendors. The concert is sponsored in part by by: San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, The James Irvine Foundation, Ann and Gordon Getty Foundation, Art Works, and San Bernardino Symphony Guild.
