Zareh Sarrafian has announced his decision to leave Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) after 20 years of dedicated service. His departure was effective Jan. 10. Sarrafian has held a number of leadership positions, including his most recent roles as administrator of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH), and chief administrative officer of Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC). During that time he has led a number of key initiatives to improve both the operational and financial health of the organization. He was also a driving force in developing the Children’s Hospital Foundation board and Big Hearts for Little Hearts Guilds. “The decision to leave was difficult,” said Sarrafian. “I believe LLUH is an extension of God’s healing ministry to a hurting world and will always remain in my heart. I will not be far away and will be the Children’s Hospital’s biggest fan, champion and supporter.” Ruthita Fike, chief executive officer of Loma Linda University Medical Center, will serve as the interim CEO of LLUCH, working closely with physician leadership and the administrative team. “On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Zareh for his unwavering commitment to serving God through his work at Loma Linda,” said Fike. “For years to come, LLUMC will benefit from his contributions and countless hours of steadfast service. We wish him well in his future endeavors.” “Zareh’s leadership and deep, personal commitment to Loma Linda on behalf of children in the Inland Empire have truly made a lasting difference in many lives,” said Dr. Richard H. Hart, president of LLUH. “He will be greatly missed.”
