Assemblyman Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga), in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce within the 40th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Highland, Loma Linda, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, San Bernardino, Mentone and Phelan, on Oct. 11 hosted the 3rd Annual Top Chamber Business (TCB) Awards, recognizing 50 businesses from five cities for their community and business contributions. The event took place Friday morning at the University of Redlands Orton Center. Each Chamber of Commerce from the cities of Highland, Loma Linda, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands and San Bernardino chose eight businesses that have added jobs to the local economy, shown unprecedented commitment to their local communities, and have achieved success in spite of recent economic trends for the award. “In these difficult economic times it is important for us to recognize the good work local businesses are doing in our communities. They are truly the backbone of our state’s economy and we need to support them” said Assemblyman Morrell. “It is my honor to work with the Chambers of Commerce to acknowledge these companies for their success and I hope this encourages other business owners to come to our area.” The following businesses from the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce were honored: * Premier Medical Transportation * Loma Linda Lopers * Loma Linda University Print Services * Goodwin Insurance Agency * Budget Transmission II, Inc. * Costco Wholesale Additionally, one of the eight selected businesses from each Chamber received top honors. They were presented a resolution by the Assemblyman, their respective Chamber and local City Council representatives. The top Loma Linda area business member of the year is Costco Wholesale.
