The Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association (LLCAA) will welcome Elaine Cohen, a painter, sculptor, and teacher, as the demonstrating artist at their monthly meeting on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.  Ms. Cohen will demonstrate her creative process and discuss her journey as an artist.  Her dream is to share the excitement and delight she finds in creating art with her audiences and students.

A brief search of her work on line shows large, impressive sculptures and colorful mixed media abstract paintings.  She has most recently displayed her work at the Art-A-Fair exhibit during the Laguna Festival of the Arts.  She has received numerous commissions for sculpted and pencil portraits.  Her work was accepted into the Smithsonian National Portrait Competition for the opening of the new portrait gallery.  She was also the featured “Emerging Artist” on PBS White House Chronicles.

Elaine teaches Abstract painting at her studio, and holds workshops in various locations in Laguna and surrounding areas.

LLCAA monthly meetings are held at the Loma Linda Senior Center, at 25571 Barton Road, in the southeast corner of the Loma Linda Civic Center Complex.  The public is invited; a $5.00 donation is requested for non-LLCAA members.  There is no cost for Loma Linda University students.
