San Bernardino County Chairman James Ramos has promoted John Futch to serve as his new Deputy Chief of Staff. Futch had served as the Field Representative for the Inland Valley since 2013. Mr. Futch is a long time resident of the Inland Valley, giving him a vast knowledge of the issues facing those communities. He received a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Social Science from Cal State University, San Bernardino. He has served in different capacities at Cal State University, San Bernardino and for the San Bernardino Community College District. Mr. Futch has also been recognized for his community involvement and membership in a variety of organizations. He will be replaced by Gayle Covey, who will now serve as the Field Representative for the Mentone, Yucaipa, Colton, Redlands, Highland, Loma Linda, and Grand Terrace communities. “John has been a great asset to our team,” said Chairman Ramos. “He has a strong understanding of community needs and I know that he is the right person for the job.”
