Valley College Women’s Volleyball: Cason Heads to Cal State San Marcos

San Bernardino Valley College Women’s Volleyball sophomore middle blocker Lashay Cason (Fontana Summit) has signed a letter of intent to play for California State University San Marcos next season. Cason was named first team all-Foothill Conference. She finished 8th in conference with a 4.97 kills per set average, Cason also finished 12th in conference with 27 service aces. She finished 2nd in Conference with 277 kills and led the team with 14 solo blocks. Cason had a season high 28 kills at Rio Hondo on Nov. 5 and 7 service aces at against L.A. Harbor on Sept. 3. The 2014 season was the seventh year for head coach Tricia Rossman as SBVC ended the season with a record of 7-15 overall and 3-7 in the Foothill Conference, finishing fourth. The Cal State San Marcos Cougars play at the Pacific Ridge High School gym in Oceanside, and the team is coached by fourth-year veteran coach, Andrea Leonard. In the 2014 season, the Cougars had an overall record of 27-11 as an independent and collecting their fourth Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament title. CSUSM is in the NAIA.
