California Baptist University women’s volleyball swept 24th-ranked Point Loma, 27-25, 25-23, 25-22, Saturday night in the Van Dyne Gym behind a superb defensive effort. The Lancers held the Sea Lions to a .152 hitting percentage, out blocking them 11-6. Sisters Tori Ortman and Nicci Hinderaker led CBU in digs with 16 and 13, respectively. Kiera Brunson paced the Lancers with five blocks, while Jordyn Siko, Abbie Gortsema and Lauren Hackett had four each. Offensively, Jenna Perry and Lauren Marr logged 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Hackett also picked up nine kills and nine digs in the victory. CBU improved to 10-2, 3-1 in the PacWest on the year with the win and will be on the road next week at Concordia on Saturday at 6 p.m.
