Western Dental Christens New Office in Loma Linda

Western Dental, one of the nation’s largest dental providers, purchased Smile Wide several months ago and has made some significant changes in its new Loma Linda office.

Western Dental had an open house Oct. 5 at its new Loma Linda location at 25733 Barton Road. The gathering included Loma Linda Mayor Rhodes Rigsby, Shane Massoud, field representative for State Senator Mike Morrell, and Socarro Pantaleon, field representative for California Assemblyman Marc Steinorth.

The event included a ribbon cutting and tours of the new office.

Previously a dental practice that primarily treated children, Western Dental has expanded its Loma Linda coverage to now include adults.

Another major change with Western Dental taking over the Loma Linda office is its total commitment to the Denti-Cal (Medi-Cal) program, which helps assure that people who can’t afford dental services are able to receive frequent care.

An estimated one-third of Californians are covered by Denti-Cal, but many people don’t know where to go to receive the treatment.

“Western Dental has a long-standing commitment to patients of all economic means throughout California. We are extremely pleased to now be able to accept Denti-Cal patients at our Loma Linda office,” said Dr. John Luther, Chief Medical Officer for Western Dental. “Western Dental has been treating Denti-Cal patients for nearly 50 years. It’s very important to us that children and adults receive the preventive services they need and get timely quality dental care.”

The Loma Linda staff includes Dr. Mahmoud Salem, Managing Dentist, Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed, Associate Dentist, and Dr. Ram Sen, Clinical Director.

Nationally, Western Dental employs more than 4,500 dental professionals and support teams, including more than 700 dentists and a full range of specialists – periodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons and dental implant specialists.
