Join us Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Loma Linda Chinese SDA Church, 25665 Van Leuven St, Loma Linda, at 4 p.m. We will be hosting a benefit concert sponsored by ASAP Ministries, a ministry dedicated to bringing hope in Jesus Christ to the poor and the seeking in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, and beyond. Accomplished pianist Jee Wong will be joined by local guest artists. Admission is free, but “love offering” donations will be collected. ALL donations will go directly to ASAP Ministries. If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate, please visit: www.asapministries.org. Featured Performer: Jee Wong. Mr Wong maintains an exciting and diverse performing career as pianist and solo vocalist. His work as solo pianist and collaborative artist has brought him across the United States and many countries abroad. He has collaborated with pianist George Winston and choreographer Karen Kaufmann. He gained national attention when his multi-media soundtrack “Lotus” was presented at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 1999. One year later he was given the opportunity to embark on a seven-country concert and workshop tour sponsored by Yamaha Pianos. SPECIAL GUESTS included WayAnne Watson, Violinist; 4 Ever Young, Vocal Quartet; Helen Chan Young, Soprano, and Edward S. Ko, Harmonica.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
