“Pilgrim’s Progress,” the original musical, will be performed at Loma Linda University Health April 11th through 13th in the Randall Amphitheater located at 11072 Anderson Street in Loma Linda. The play will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. as well as Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.
LLU School of Religion is sponsoring the play, written and produced by Professor Kenneth Wright, PhD, in collaboration with LifeHouse Theater in Redlands.
“‘Pilgrim’s Progress’ has been a wonderful adventure for me,” said Wright, “and I am so excited by the prospects of having it performed at Loma Linda University. Several of the cast members of our production have been in the show each time it has been performed at LifeHouse, and we didn’t want to miss the opportunity if doing it again.
Based on the 1678 Christian allegory by John Bunyan, “Pilgrim’s Progress” is the allegorical tale of a pilgrim named Christian and his journey to the Celestial City. One of the most significant works of English literature, having been translated into more than 200 languages, this musical adaptation of John Bunyan’s work is sure to entertain and inspire.
Entrance into the play is free, and seats are available on a first-come first-served basis. Each showing can accommodate 325 people.
