The big insight Karen Moynihan, PhD, shares with other cancer patients and members of their families is that a diagnosis of cancer doesn’t necessarily bring your life to a standstill. In May 2008, Mrs. Moynihan—pictured here at her 25th college reunion with her mother, Phyllis Lewis—learned she had colon cancer. The photo was taken five years later.
