Representatives from Farmer Boys paid a visit to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) on Jan. 14, and they did not come empty handed. A check for $42,113.63 was handed over to the hospital.
“Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital is extremely grateful for the benevolence that Farmer Boys has once again shown us,” said Rachelle Bussell, senior vice president of advancement at Loma Linda University Health. “We would not be able to do what we do as a dedicated children’s hospital serving kids in the Inland Empire’s four-county region without organizations like Farmer Boys.”
The funds were raised during the “Give a Helping Hand” program, which was held from from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Throughout the fundraiser time frame, Farmer Boys' guests were invited to make a donation by “purchasing” a paper Lion Heart icon for $1.00 or more. Lion Heart icons commemorating each donation were displayed in Farmer Boys restaurants to recognize and celebrate the generosity of the community in supporting LLUCH.
“Farmer Boys is honored to be able to give back to an organization that does so much for the kids in our community, said Ken Clark, Farmer Boys president and chief operating officer. Farmer Boys has donated $383,491 to LLUCH over the years and is an ongoing partner and sponsor of the annual Children’s Day at the hospital.
