Shoppers at Ralphs and Food 4 Less supermarkets raised $41,622.28 for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) by donating their spare change in collection canisters at check stands of their neighborhood stores.
The Ralphs/Food 4 Less Foundation issued a check to LLUCH to support services for children being treated at the hospital. The amount represents the money raised by Inland Empire Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores during the first quarter of their “Children’s Hospital Canister Campaign.”
“We are very pleased that in spite of the economic climate, our customers share our deep commitment in wanting to help the communities in which we live and work,” said Kendra Doyel, senior manager, public affairs at Ralphs/Food 4 Less.
LLUCH Administrator Zareh Sarrafian said the partnership with Ralphs and Food 4 Less helps assure that children being treated at the hospital will continue to receive world-class care.
“We are humbled by the generosity of Ralphs and Food 4 Less customers and honored to be a partner in the ‘Children’s Hospital Canister Campaign’,” he said. “We appreciate the customers of Ralphs and Food 4 Less for their individual participation, which has resulted in a successful campaign. Collectively, even small amounts make a major difference for the kids at the hospital.”
