The Loma Linda Fire Department is once again holding Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training for new members, and local residents are encouraged to sign up.
The CERT team is comprised of community members who are trained to provide assistance to their families, neighbors and the community during a disastrous event.
Members will receive 20 hours of training on disaster preparedness, light fire suppression, basic medical aid, light search and rescue, and team operations.
All residents and businesses are welcome to sign up to take the next course! Those who complete their training will receive a backpack, helmet, vest, safety glasses, gloves and a student notebook.
Courses take place over seven weeks; it is important to note that all seven classes must be attended in order to successfully complete training.
